BOTOX & Dysport

A bacterial protein called botulinum toxin (BOTOX), neuro toxin A, prevents nerve signals from reaching muscles.  Therefore, the muscle cannot contract without the signal. This helps reduce wrinkles and fine lines. It is also used to get rid of forehead creases, crow’s feet, frown lines, lip lines, and bunny lines. It helps diminish neck bands, enhance chin dimples, eyebrow lift, elevate the corners of the lips, and correct gummy smiles.

What to Expect During a BOTOX or Dysport Treatment

We suggest you start with a consultation if you have never used a neurotoxin before. To help determine what’s best for your skin and for us to clearly understand your goals and expectations. During the consultation, we will discuss the ideal treatment before getting started. 
  
Your first appointment may take longer than subsequent visits. We can answer any additional questions you may have and walk you through every step of the process. 
  
At each appointment, you will receive a series of several small injections.  We discuss this prior to the treatment. A very small needle is used for the injections. Most people feel very little during the process. We do offer Ice or vibration prior to injection if you’d like us to use it.  
  
Following your appointment, there is no recovery process. You can go on with your day. We recommend avoid laying for 4 hours following your visit. Avoid engaging in strenuous exercise for 48 hours. Neurotoxin injections are recommended every 12 weeks.

More frequent injections increase the risk of developing antibody resistance when this happens none of the neurotoxin A products will be effective. This is something you will want to avoid in order to continue having a desired effect from Dysport or neurotoxin A for years to come.
