Hyaluronic acid is found naturally throughout the body, with the highest concentration in the skin, eyes, and joints. 

In the skin, hyaluronic acid attracts water. This hydrates the skin and helps it look younger. As we age we lose fat, muscle, and bone in the face. This leads to fine lines and wrinkles in the face. The hyaluronic acid injections in the face hold water in areas of loss. This reduces the effects of aging. It is used to give structure, reduce lines/ folds, add volume, and create structure. What to Expect When Receiving Dermal Fillers

If you have never had a filler schedule a consultation to go over what’s best for your skin, get questions answered, and explain more in detail regarding the procedure. We will discuss your appearance goals, skincare concerns, medical history, prior cosmetic treatments, treatment options, and expected outcomes and results. 
  
Before your procedure, we examine your skin and mark appropriate injection sites. We then clean the area well. During your procedure, the injection takes a few moments. We inject, massage, and evaluate the area being treated. After your procedure, if you are satisfied with the results, you are free to go. An ice pack may be used to help with swelling and discomfort that may occur into the following day. Results are temporary and can last about six months to 9 months. 
  
You can expect each appointment to take about 60 minutes. We recommend avoiding intense physical activity for the first 24 hour to 48 hours. 

Specific questions regarding individual needs, desires or products can be discussed during the consultation appointment. This is a free session with our MD or RN and specific appts can be made during this time.

What are hyaluronic acid fillers?

HA fillers are injectable treatments used to restore lost volume, smooth lines, and enhance facial contour while maintaining a natural look.

How long do they last?

Results typically last 6-8 months but this depends on the area treated, the product used, and your own body’s metabolism. Areas with more movement, such as the lips, may break down filler faster than areas such as cheeks.

What areas can you treat?

HA fillers are versatile and can be used to enhance and rejuvenate multiple areas. We do choose different densities of filler depending on the area.

Are fillers better than Dysport?

They are completely different products, treat different concerns, and give patients different results. Filler restores volume and contours, Dysport relaxes muscles that causes wrinkles. The combination if both benefits patients when looking to receive complete facial rejuvenation.

Can fillers be dissolved?

Yes, they can be safely dissolved in clinic with Hyaluronidase. Although painful, it does allow for adjustments or reversal of results. It is also recommended that patients allow for the 2-4 weeks post filler to determine if this is what they would like. Swelling goes down during this time.
